Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
This policy explains what happens to data when you play Decant ("the game"), a mobile puzzle game published on Google Play.
The short version. The game has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of ours. Your progress never leaves your phone. The only party that receives data about you is Google, through the advertising built into the game.
Who is responsible
The game is published by Decant, an independent developer based in Serbia, acting as the data controller for the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation.
Questions about this policy can be sent using the developer contact details shown on the game's Google Play listing.
What we collect ourselves
Nothing. We operate no servers and receive no data from the game. We cannot identify you, and we hold no record that you have ever installed or played it.
Data stored on your device
The game saves the following locally, in its private app storage, so that you can close it and pick up where you left off:
- Which level you have reached, and the board you are part-way through
- Best move counts, star ratings and completion times per level
- Daily Challenge results and streak
- Number of hints remaining
- Your sound and colour-blind settings
None of this is transmitted anywhere, is not linked to any identity, and is deleted when you uninstall the game.
Advertising
Decant shows rewarded video ads, supplied by Google AdMob. These are optional: an ad only plays if you choose to watch one in exchange for an extra hint or to skip a level. The game does not show ads between levels or interrupt play.
To serve and measure those ads, Google may collect and process:
- Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID)
- IP address, from which approximate location may be inferred
- Device information such as model, operating system version and language
- Interaction with the ads shown (views, clicks)
This processing is carried out by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's own policies:
Consent, and how to change your mind
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the game shows a consent form on first launch, provided by Google's User Messaging Platform. It asks whether ads may be personalised using your data. Ads are not requested until you have answered.
You can change your decision at any time:
- Through the privacy options available in the game, where your region requires them to be offered.
- On your device: Settings > Google > Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation entirely.
Declining personalisation does not remove ads; it means the ads you see are chosen without using your data.
Permissions the game requests
- Internet access, to load ads. The puzzles themselves are generated on your device and the game is fully playable offline.
- Network state, to tell whether an ad can be fetched.
- Advertising ID, used by Google as described above.
The game does not request access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, files, precise location, or any other personal content on your device.
Children
Decant is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, please contact us and we will assist in having it removed by the relevant provider.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Because we hold no data about you, we have nothing to disclose, correct or erase. Requests concerning advertising data should be directed to Google using the links above. You can erase everything the game keeps by uninstalling it, and reset your advertising identifier in your device settings at any time.
Data sharing and selling
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We have none to sell. The only sharing that occurs is between your device and Google, for the purpose of showing advertising, as described above.
Security
Game data is stored in the app's private storage area, which other apps on your device cannot read. As we hold no data ourselves, there is no server or database of players to be compromised.
Changes to this policy
If the game changes in a way that affects this policy, for example if analytics or in-app purchases were added, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised. Significant changes will be noted in the app's store listing.
Contact
Use the developer contact details published on the game's Google Play listing. Requests concerning advertising data should go to Google, using the links above.
